Now you KNOW …. I am the “Thrifty Vixen” …. but how do you feel about thrifting?
Thrifting is like the metropolis of everything Eclectic for me so I LOVE IT! You can find clothes from almost every era put it together with some fashionable accessories and look like you walked out of some Boutique in Hollywood. What people dont understand is HOW TO thrift. Thrifting is a skill, just like shopping at the mall; everything still consists of style, color scheme, and versatility.All those 80s color blocking and acid washed jeans that cost hundreds in malls and boutiques world wide, those designers can keep those. Stop keeping up with the Joneses when you have a thrift store in your city because I guarantee, somebody was rocking that same Versace print blouse in 1986 that you just saw in your favorite fashion magazine!

Is it something you’ve never done? Yes, especially for vintage accessories.

Something you dont like at all??

Any pointers for someone looking to enter into your field of work? Be yourself in anything that you do. I also am an aspiring cosmetologist & nail tech, stand apart from the other individuals never stay in the box no matter what you do, there is nothing new understand however there will never be another you.

4.What do you do? I design dresses
5.How long?
Started drawing at a very young age. As I got older I began to draw more detail into what the people in the picture were wearing, eventually my main focus became designing clothes.

What are some of your goals you wish To accomplish this year?
-One of my goals this year is to work really hard to better my sewing and designs so I can attend a great fashion design school after I graduate.

What are you currently working on?
– I’m currently working on improving how I sketch the model’s proportions so the picture looks more realistic.

Have you actually made any of your sketches in real life….can you also sew?
-I haven’t made any of my sketches yet in real life, but it is one of my number one priorities. I do sew and I plan on starting that project very soon.

Any advice for people out there wishing to follow there dreams like you?
-My advice for people who want to follow their dreams is to stay true to yourself and what you do. I know a lot of people say that, but if you convince yourself that you’re

someone you aren’t then you’ll never be content. I had planned on going to law school, but then I realized I wouldn’t be happy. I have been given the gift of creativity and I don’t intend on wasting it.

4.For how long? Since I was about 13 yrs old

Describe your type of clothing style Its kinda hard to describe my clothing style…u just have to see it to believe it!

Whats one item we would never catch you without? The one item you would never catch me without is my “smell goods”…this is something I learned from my Pop while watching him get dressed. Your outfit speaks to a person’s visual sense BUT when you have the right fragrance matched with your body chemistry…ITS A WRAP!

So I hear your quite the “Thrift King” …. what are some items you’ve found while thrifting ? When I go thrifting, I’m not only looking for clothes, although this tends to be the main focus. I try and not look at the racks like one big collection of stuff. I’ve walked out with as little as 1 single tee shirt for .25, or as much as an arms full of random vinyl records, a cart FULL of clothes with a mini baby grand piano trailing behind! (wait til you see the piano)

Interested in reselling any of it? Listen, I’ve always had a hustle in me, so as far as reselling…of course! U see something you like?

Must be pretty nice to be a lead singer in a band,tell me more about it Being one of the lead singers in a band is like a blessing in disguise. Being in a position where I have the attention of so many people to showcase my gifts and talents is a true blessing. Making each moment memorable, enjoyable, and entertaining is what UNITED SOULS is all about.

Do you style them for gigs? As far as the bands fashion style, we are all very much individuals. There have been a few times when we were preparing for a special engagement, or an alternative looking photo shoot and I’ve supplied all the items straight out of my closet…for the entire crew! They appreciate my style enough to trust me, and I don’t let my dudes down!

I’ve crowned you my “Thrifty Gentleman” tell the readers what we can expect from you in the future….. The THRIFTY GENTLEMAN? That’s got a lil ring to it! Well with my new crowned title, I want to tell the world…being thrifty doesn’t always mean buying something “2nd hand”. It means refusing to spend top dollar for something when you know u have the knack for finding THAT DEAL! I’ve got some dope stuff to share and I can’t wait!

Art in a unique and beautiful light ….. Meet Justin

I met this gentleman on instagram ….. I was immediately captivated and enchanted by his art work posted…

1.Who are you?
I am The Only Paradox, LeVetrius De’Lanice, etc… I have a lot of different pseudonyms, but my real name is Justin Michael C.
2.Where are you located?
I am based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
3.Whats your craft?
I am a psychedelic artist, musician, and entrepreneur. I run a very small non profit record label entitled “Atarifever Records.” I just love and dabble in every form of the arts. Freelance photography, music production, hip-hop culture, punk shows, D.J.ing, etc…. I don’t hold myself back. If it interests me, I’ll try it out.
4.How long have you been at it?
I’ve been making art pretty much since I’ve been old enough to steal my grandma’s scrapbook supplies and stamp myself. I just started selling my art professionally recently. I’ve been making music my entire life as well. I started playing guitar when I was nine, and I just couldn’t get enough.
5.Where can we expect to find you three years from now?
If anything I think you’ll find me happy. Hopefully you won’t have to find me in three years; my art will find you.
6.What gets you inspired?
I know this sounds horribly cliche, but basically everything. When I sit down to make art, I don’t plan anything out whatsoever. I just let my right brain take over and do whatever it wants essentially. I just trust my own instinct.
7.What type of encouragement would you give someone looking to begin a path into Art?
Don’t close your mind off to any form of inspiration. Don’t look around for someone to tell you how, where, or when to make your art. Just make art. Period. Your style will find itself.
8.For the wondering ladies…. are you single,taken,or other right now?
As of right now I am happily taken by my girlfriend Katelyn. She’s a real sweetheart and I am grateful that she supports me with everything I endeavor in.
9.Any last comments?
I just want to thank all of my fans, everyone who is supporting me on my way up, everyone who thinks I suck, and everyone who pushes me to do my best. I especially want to thank the Thrifty Vixen for allowing me to do this interview. Stay strong, follow your dreams, and appreciate life for the blessing it really is. I love you all.
